Government Ayurvedic Pharmacies, besides manufacturing of Ayurvedic Medicines the Departmental Pharmacies are also playing constructive role for the purpose to catering the Ayurvedic Health Centres in the state. The medicines being manufactured by the pharmacies are made available to the Ayurvedic Health Centres and Hospitals through which these are provided to the ailing community free of cost.
In recent Government of India has specially provided the financial assistance to strengthened and uplift these Pharmacies resulting the increase in production of the medicines. There three Ayurvedic Pharmacies are in operation.
The efforts are being made by the authority so that the medicines being manufactured by these Pharmacies are made available in the open market from where the public in general can buy the medicines, so that revenue for exchequer be generate.
1. Government Ayurvedic Pharmacy, Paprola District Kangra:
Government Ayurvedic Pharmacy, Paprola besides manufacturing of Ayurvedic Mdicines; the pharmacy is also attached to Ayurvedic Medical College (Rajiv Gandhi Government Post Graduate Ayurvedic College), Paprola for the training and Research work of the medical students. There 26 medicines / formulations being manufactured in the Pharmacy.
2. Government Ayurvedic Pharmacy, Majra District Sirmour, H.P.
Government Ayurvedic Pharmacy, Majra was set up in 1951-52 for manufacturing quality Ayurvedic patent and classical medicines. There 52 medicines / formulations being manufactured in the Pharmacy.
3. Government Ayurvedic Pharmacy, Jogindernagar District Mandi, H.P.
Government Ayurvedic Pharmacy, Jogindernagar was set up in 1952 and is located at Jogindernagar district Mandi for manufacturing quality patent and classical Ayurvedic medicines. There 67 medicines / formulations being manufactured in the Pharmacy.
