Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh is one of the prime educational institutions of the state. It is situated at Tanda and has strong road connectivity. The medical college is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University. Dr. Virbhadra Singh laid the foundation stone of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College in the year 1996 but the college started its proper functioning from the year 1997 when staff was posted here. In 2004, the college was accorded permanent recognition by Medical Council of India (MCI) team.
Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College offers courses like Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). The duration of the courses is 5 and a half years. Students qualifying HP Pre-Medical Test are able to seek admission here. The Tanda College provides separate hostel facility for both boys and girls. Good transport facility is also provided by the college. A medical hospital is also attached to this college having a capacity of about 500 beds.
