Section- C

5.Write notes on the following:
(a)Software configuration for serial devices.
(b)Configuration of hardware terminals.

6.(a) How are sound and network cards installed?
(b)What are the ‘Serial device files’? Explain.
(c)Describe ‘Hard and Soft carriers’?

Section- D

7.What are the various configuration methods of LINUX Kernel? Describe in detail.

8.Write short notes on the following:
(a)Kernel adaptation.
(b)LOGROTATE.
(c)SYSLOG
(d)Logging policies.

Section- E

9.Attempt all the following question:

(a) Describe the purpose and syntax of nice and renice commands.
(b) Describe the command FSCK.
(c) Describe how ‘tar’ command is used for back-up to a raw device as well as a formatted partition.
(d) What are ext2 and ext3 file systems?
