In order to provide help to the poor,exploited and grief- stricken children, Shimla government has started the tool free-child helpline number 1098.
In order to provide a helping hand to the needy and poor children of the city Shimla, the government has started a toll free helpline number 1098 where people can inform about such children who need help. The service will be so fast that the children will be provided immediate help and relief. The basic motive of this helpline number is to inform about the children who need care and protection such as:
1.Children who have lost their family members and are feeling helpless in the city.
2. Children who are orphan or without any guardian, food and shelter.
3. If the children is exploited or harassed by any other person.
4.For sympathetic help and suggestions.
This telephone 1098 is a 24 hour toll free number which can be called in any emergency condition relating to care of child.
This service can only be used with the BSNL telephones.This service is available in the entire district of Shimla. People of the city are advised to inform on this number if they find any child in miserable condition or need any help.
When we dial 1098 number to inform about any child, we are connected to child line centre. Given the proper information about the child, the child line team reaches the child within 60 minutes of the call. The child is taken up and all the necessary measures are taken to provide relief to the child.
