In order to provide help and emergency services to the senior citizens of our city Shimla, the Himachal government has started a toll free helpline number in Shimla. Senior citizens can make a call on this number under various conditions of help, need or emergency and get the service.

The primary reason for the surge in the progress of Himachal government is that, it has always given a grave concern to the problems of poor, children, women and senior citizens of the society. It has always worked on the problems at the ground level. Coming with the child helpline service to provide relief to the abandoned children or in need of help, Himachal government has also started a senior citizen helpline number to provide services to the aged, retired and needy senior citizens of the Shimla city.

The senior citizen helpline number for Shimla is 0177-1253. This is a toll free number and is available only for the BSNL users. Customers using the other telecommunication services can contact on 0177-2804713 as a senior citizen helpline number. But it should be noted that this number is not toll free. General charges would apply to the users. Helpline services for the senior citizens in Shimla is available in all days of the week from 10:00am to 5:00pm.

Services Provided by Senior Citizen Helpline Number, Shimla

1. Ambulance facilities will be provided to the senior citizens in Shimla on call at low rates with fast and immediate service.

2. In few of the Private Charitable Hospitals in Shimla, the senior citizens will be provided special concession in fee for treatment.

3. Senior citizens will be provided medicines at cheap prices as compared to other shops.

4. Information Services:- Information about health facilities, old age homes in Himachal, other benefits and facilities to senior citizens and other helpline service centres will be provided.

5. Advisory Services:- Guiding the old and aged citizens of Shimla and providing solutions to their problems.

6. Emergency Situation relief:- In case of any misconduct done to old people,immediate relief services will be provided to them on contact.

7. Legal Guidance:- Legal guidance to the senior citizens in case of property issues.
