    Hamirpur-The most literate city of Himachal Pradesh

    Hamirpur also called The educational hub of Himachal is the most literate district. Hmirpur district named after the ruler Hamir Chand . According to 2001 census the number of there are total 412009 people resides in Hamirpur. The sex ratio in Hamirpur is 1102:1000 i.e. for every 1000 male there are 1102 females. The local language spoken in Hamirpur district is Kangri. The main source of income in this district is agriculture. Thousands of people still depend upon the agriculture and diary business for their income. Nowadays Hamirpur emerged as educational hub of Himachal and there are so many institutions for both professional as well as for academic education.

    Center of attraction in Hamirpur:



    1. NIT Hamirpur:

    NIT Hamirpur, one of the premier institutes in the technical education is the pivot point of attraction of this district. Thousands of students not only from home state but all over the India study here. NIT Hamirpur is in ANU which is just at a distance of 2-3 kms from the main bus stand of Hamirpur.

    2. Polytechnical College in Hamirpur:

    This is another institute which provides technical education to the youth of this state. Polytechnical College in Hamirpur is situated in village Baru , which is about 3 km from main bus stand of Hamirpur. Thousands of students do their diploma courses of 3 years from this institute. Polytechnical college Hamirpur is a government body and even the students who are not financially very sound can study from here.

    3. Him Academy Hamirpur:

    Him Academy Hamirpur is one of the leading school in Himachal. Him Academy Hamirpur is under Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBSE). This school has produced so many meritorious every year. Him Academy Hamirpur is situated in Pakka Paroh which is 2 km from main bus stand of Hamirpur. Him academy Hamirpur also provides boarding facility to the students who are from other districts.

    4. HPSSSB Hamirpur:

    The office of HPSSSB i.e. Himachal Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Board is located in Hamirpur district. It is government body which is responsible for the selection for various posts such as TGT , JBT, Lecturer. HPSSSB office is just opposite to the Town Hall of Hamirpur, which is at a walking distance of 5 minutes from main bus stand of Hamirpur.

    5. Baba Balak Nath Temple in Hamirpur:

    Baba Balak Nath temple is other main center of attraction of Hamirpur district. Baba Balak Nath temple is located in Deoth Sidh which is just 38 km from Hamirpur bus stand. Millions of devotees visit this religious place every year.

    6. Hanuman Temple in Mattan Sidh:

    Hanuman temple in Hamirpur district is the place where thousands of devotees visit every year. Hanuman temple is situated in village Mattan Sidh which is just 5 km from Hamirpur bus stand.

    7. Radha Swami Satsang Hospital in Hamirpur:

    Radha Swami Hospital which is a charitable hospital is situated in Bhota , which is about 16 km from bus stand of Hamirpur. Radha Swami Hospital is on the road head and thousands of patients visit every month to this hospital for their treatment.

    8. Military School in Hamirpur:

    Military School in Sujanpur is one of the famous schools in Himachal Pradesh. It is popularly known as the Sainik School. It conducts exam every year for the admission of the students in this prestigious school. This Military school has produces so many armed force officers who have bring laurel to our nation as well as to Himachal Pradesh.
