The Beautiful town of Solan popularly known as the Mushroom city of India .
The beautiful town of
Solan named after Godess "Shoolini"
who's temple is located centrally in the town is geographically located at the foothills of the Himalayas known as the "Shivaliks".Located midway on the Kalka and Shimla national highway 22, and the pleasnt climatic conditions throughout the year makes Solan, quiet a hub for the tourists.
It is easily reachable by road and the railways . The Solan town enjoys a prime location as it is surrounded by places like :
Shimla
Kasauli
Chail
Chandigard etc.
Which are the places which most tourist like to visit in Solan.
The prosperous town of solan has got quality provisions for the education of the students , with a number of good schools and collages surrounding the place.
The various highligting factors of Solan town are:
Located at the altitude of 1500 to 2000 mtrs. from the sea level.
Highest cricket pitch , located in Chail.
The famous Mohan Meakin's Brewrey set up in 1855 A.D
The Mount Karol gaurding Solan Provides adventurous trekking oppurtunities , and also havereligious significance for the hindus.
Solan is the highest producer of tomatoes in Himachal Pradesh
. Mushrroms are also grown in bulk than any other city in Himachal Pradesh.
