State government is not behind in providing nutrition to the future of India and keeping an eye on this on 15.08.1995 it passed the law of providing mid-day meals to students in primary schools. For initialization it was implemented in only few blocks. But later it was extended to all the 77 blocks.

The law was implemented as: 3kg grains par student on the basis of attendance criteria. It was given to the students having attendance above 80%.But later it was found that process of merely providing the grains to the students would not reach the ultimate objective of providing the nutrition to the students. The Reason being uncooked food is either used by the other members of family or sold up for meeting the financial help.
So on 01.09.2004 new improved and enthusiastic act of providing cooked mid-day meals to students during all working days come.It was a challenge to the Head teachers of primary school as it was to be done under there supervision. But the law was implemented in a successful manner. And since then students are given fresh hot lunch in all government and gvernment aided schools.
