Famous personalities Himachalis making the state proud nationally as well as internationally!

Innumerable talents born in Himachal have proved their mettle not only in India but abroad as well. Whether we talk of education, sports, music or Bollywood, Himachalis have shown their talents and expertise in all the diversified fields. Personalities like Dalip Singh Rana, Dicky Dolma, Preity Zinta, Kangna Ranaut, Anupam Kher, Karnail Rana and many more have made Himachal proud. Recently few more Himachalis brought laurels to the state:

1. National Weightlifting Competition is being held in Udaipur, Rajasthan from February 21st 2010. It will finish on 25th February, 2010. Among the selected weightlifters from the entire nation, a 22 year old young lad, Rajesh Kumar, from Dehrian village in Jawalamukhi is making Himachal proud.

2. Madan Negi, a brave police officer working in the Kinnaur police station showed his courgage in 2007 when 12 people were trapped in floodwaters in Sangla valley of Kinnaur. He bravely fought for their survival and was successful in saving the lives of all the 12 people. For this courage, Madan Negi has been awarded with Prime Minister Medal.

3. Dr. Rajeev Puri from Nadaun has been selected as the only Indian to join the International Board of Editors of the Georgian Electronic Science Journal, Physics. Dr. Rajeev Puri is presently working as a professor in Punjab University, Chandigarh. He has done several researches and many national and international awards are there to his credit.
