Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal:

Prof. Prem Kumar the honorable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh hails from district Hamirpur. Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal belongs to Bhartiya Janta Party. Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal belongs to Samirpur village of Hamirpur district. Prem Kumar Dhumal is the son of Smt. Phulumu Devi and Capt Mahant Ram born on 10th of April in the year 1944.

Anurag Thakur:

Anurag Thakur the MP from Himachal to Lok Shaba hails from district Hamirpur. Anurag Thakur is the elder son of honorable Chief Minister of Himachal Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal. Anurag Thakur is also the President of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association. Anurag Thakur has a huge contribution in the popularity of cricket in Himachal Pradesh.

Shooter Vijay Kumar:

The ace shooter of India Vijay Kumar also belongs to Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh. Vijay Kumar is the resident of Harsaur village of Hamirpur district. Vijay Kumar bagged two gold medals in the 2006 Commonwealth games which were held in Paris. Vijay Kumar is also the winner of many national and international events in the shooting. Madan Lal the famous Indian Cricketer also hails from Hamirpu district. Madan Lal was born in Amritsar but his ancestor belongs to Hamirpur district. Madan Lal was born on March 20th 1951. Madan Lal was also in the squad of 1983 Cricket World Cup winning team which was held in Lords(England). Madan Lal has played 39 tests and 69 ODIs matches in his career. Presently Madan Lal is the active politician of Indian National Congress. Madan Lal also nominated by Congress party against Anurag Thakur in Hamirpur constituency for 2009 Lok Shaba election, but Madan Lal withdraw later due to some health related problems.

Ishwer Das Dhiman , present Education Minister of Himachal Pradesh belongs to Hamirpur district. Ishwer Das Dhiman is serving as Education Minister of Himachal for second time.
