Dodra Kewar Village in Rohru -A Heaven in Interiors of Himachal

Dodra Kewar is a village in Shimla(Rohru) which is popular for being most interior place of Himachal Pradesh. This is our travel story to this village.

Hi friends I am Navneet Bhagchanta basically I belong to Tehsil Rohru of Distt. Shimla. Last year in the month of June me and my cousins planned to visit "Dodra Kewar" an interior village of H.P . We started our journey from Rohru to Chanshal first,which is a peak nearly at a height of 3750 mts and it is 45 Kms from Rohru and 160 Kms from Shimla. Kewar valley is situated in back side of this peak and unfortunately road to peak remains closed for 7 months in a year due to which no transport is available to Dodra Kewar during this time period mainly from November to May.It is believed that if you walk without wearing shoes on grass at Chanshal peak , it acts as medicine for blood pressure, heart problems etc. After spending 2-3 hours here we started our journey towards Dodra which is nearly 30 Kms from Chanshal peak.

On the way to this village you will definitely feel like you are in Heaven,completely surrounded by snowy white mountains and green mountains. The village is at the height of 2450 mts from sea level. People here believe in Devta "JAKH" . Before road facility to this village people used to buy products from Naintwar village in Uthrakhand which takes nearly 4 hours walk to one side only.

The village is beautiful to see, people here are very helpful.
One beautiful point here is near the river "Rupan". For the convenience of tourist an old Dhaba with residence facility is available here and for good night stay rest house facility is also available here.
We enjoyed a lot in this tour of 2 days and hope you will also plan to visit this heaven on earth.
