Impact of Western Culture on Himachali (Pahari) Culture.

It is a well known fact that there is a head and a tail for a coin, similarly everything in this real world has both positive and negative view. The view depends only on the way you taking it.
Western culture as overall is pretty cool and good but at certain points it is objectionable according to Indian culture.

The positive impact of it on common man is that our dressing sense has changed and is matching the changing world very well but it had negative impact too like youth is focusing on dresses(good to say vulgar dressing) more than studies and other family responsibilities. Youth here is crazy to opt the emo looks,which is not acceptable here according to our well set dressing scenario(A simple Pahari culture).

The other positive impact is that Girls literacy rate has increased in Himachal Pradesh.Western culture has provided an equal status to Women which is a good thing to happen.Due to an Pahari state most of the areas here were interior for a long period of time. Due to lack of education girls here were not given the same facilities and status but with time as education rate increased in interiors and in Cities too the western culture started it's magic and as a result today girls are equally giving competition to guys.

The most negative impact is excessive fashion ,which has become problem to parents and teachers too. Particularly in Shimla you can easily say that out of 50 minors 35+ had done piercing in different parts of face(like ears,lips,above eye) which is not good to see.Youths are dressed in a very bad way.The fashion here is now at such level that on seeing hair of any youth you can never become sure about what hair style was that(It's for sure).

Other negative impact is that Expressions of love in Western and Eastern countries are different. They(In western culture) do have physical expressions before marriage whereas we cannot even think about it and if seriously conduct analysis on this thing than you will come to know that it is happening there in Himachal.I know most of you will think i am writing these things about my own native place but i think we need to face the truth and have to deal with it, then why not today????.

As an whole Western culture has both positive and negative impact on our Pahari culture. But if we pursue this in good sense only then it can help us in our overall development and take it side by side with with our beautiful culture.
