Vashisth Village in Manali- Famous for its Spring of Hot water

Vashisth village is in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. Vashisth village is just 3km from Manali. Vashisth village is named after Rishi Vashisth. In Vashisth village there is hot spring in which millions of devotees take bath every year. It is believed that bath in this hot spring in Vashisth village free people from all their sins and woes.

There is a story behind the origin of Vashisth village. It is believed that Lord Rama committed the sin of killing Brahma. Lord Rama then organized 'Aswamedha Yajna' to free from this sin. In 'Aswamedha Yajna' the presence of Rishi Vasisth was must. Lord Rama then sent both Shringi Rishi as well as Laxmana to search Rishi Vasisth. Shringi Rishi and Laxmana found Rishi Vasisth in this place in Manali. Since this place was very cold so Lamana made a spring of hot water. In this spring of hot water Laxmana and Shringi Rishi took bath and Rishi Vasisth gave boon that anyone who take bath in this hot spring will get relaxation. In Vashisth village there old temple of Lord Rama made up of stones.
