Chamba Finds Place in Indian Heritage List

Historical Chamba city, one of the famous districts of Himachal Pradesh is soon going to be under UNESCO's survey to get the title of Heritage City. It is a matter of great pride to Himachal Pradesh that Chamba city has been included in the Indian Heritage List. Soon a team from UNESCO is going to visit Chamba city and will analyze the Chamba city whether it satisfies the parameters to be rated as a Heritage City.

It has been said that the Chamba city was established in the 10th century and has completed its millennium years of establishment. On the demands of people of Chamba city and looking into the extraordinary characteristics of the Chamba city, it has been included in the Indian Heritage List. Senior littérateur Harish Chandra Sharma stated that on the basis of early establishment of Chamba City and qualities of Chamba city specified in the report sent to UNESCO, they have included Chamba city in the Indian Heritage List. Now if, UNESCO team puts its stamp on the report and declare Chamba City in Himachal Pradesh as Heritage City, it would be a matter of great pride not only to Chamba residents but to the entire state.

Writer, Asif Khan added that Chamba city possesses all those qualities that are required to become a Heritage city. The only formality left is just to show all these qualities of Chamba city to the UNESCO team during their visit to Chamba. It is alleged that UNESCO team will be visiting Chamba city within 6 months. Hope thousand years old Chamba city gets recognition as Heritage city and make Himachal proud worldwide.
