Dharamshala is a beautiful city in Kangra District in Himachal. It is situated in Kangra Valley under the lap of snow capped Dhauladhar range of Himalayas. Visit Mcleodganj, Bhagsunag, Naddi, Narghota, Chamunda Devi.
Introduction to Dahramshala in Kangra District:
Dharamshala is one of the most beautiful Hill Stations in Himachal Pradesh. Dharamshala is 1500 Meters above sea level. The city is famous for its mesmerising mountains and scenic beauty.
How to reach Dharamshala?
By Road:
From Delhi many buses ply including Volvo and Luxury buses daily.
By Rail:
If you are going by train, you need to board any train heading towards Jammu. get down at Pathankot or Chakki Bank station. From there you you can take a toy train till Kangra.
From Kangra Dharamshala is just 20 Kms.
By Air:
Daily Flights from Delhi to Dharamshala and back to delhi are available. The nearest airport is Gaggal Airport which is 10 Kms from the main city.
Dharamshala is very well connected with all the major cities of Punjab, Haryana and Jammu and Delhi.
Places to Visit in and around Dharamshala:
Dharamshala is divided into two parts: Upper Dharamshala and Lower dharamshala
There are many
tourist attractions in Dharamshala like Mcleodganj which is also the home for His Highness The Dalai Lama.
Two kms from Mcleodganj is Bhagsunag Temple.
The water fall is another attraction near Bhagsunag.
People who love peace and pollution free atmosphere can visit Naddi and Talnu.
Beautiful Dal Lake with rare fish is yet another must see spot in Upper Dharamshala.
People who love shopping can go to Kotwali Bazaar.
Another not to miss points are
War Memorial and Kangra Meuseum.
Very Few people know that
Dharamshala has many tea gardens in its outskirts.
Nature loving people can have a walk towards Chilgari and Narghota to have a look at the amazing Tea Gardens and Tea Factory. When you visit the factory do not forget to buy the fresh tea.
Kunal Pathari Mata Temple is also located near Dharamshala in the Sarah Road.
People from all over Himachal visit this ancient temple of Goddess Durga.
People from all over the country visit Chamunda Devi temple which is just 15 Kms from Dharamshala.
Dharamshala has successfully hosted two IPL matches of season 3. The stadium of Dharamshala is one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world.
