Investing in shares and stocks is generally considered very risky. This is true. However if invested propery and with little care, investing in stocks can bring lot of Mullah in your kitty.

The first thing you need to do is to get aquainted with the financial sector. Read as much as possible about BSE, NSE Capital Market, about the companies and different market trends.

People may advise you to buy this or buy that but do not go by advises if any Tom Dick and Harry. You need to have your own idea about the company you are investing in.

So first study the things.

Open a demat account with any service provider like ICICI, Indiabulls, Sharekhan, IndiaInfoline etc. Almost all the banks offer the services of Demat account. There is a nominal annual fee for this account.

There are two types of DEMAT Accounts. One is a simple account. With this account you need to go to the stock broker to buy shares and stocks. First you have to register to your broker and you can get started then.

Second type of account is online Demat cum Bank account where you can trade with your convenience at your home or interner cafe.

You will get a login ID. Simply login and buy and sell shares. The account will be linked to your Bank account. If you want to buy shares, allocate the funds. When you sell shares the money gets credited in your account.

With online demat account you can also buy Mutual Funds, Post office investments, IPO's etc. It is a very convenient way of investing in shares and stocks.

Always remember if you are a newbie and do not have much knowledge of shares and stocks and you still want to invest, then go for the top company in its segment and stay invested for a long term.

Always keep the timing right, be it buying or selling.
