Important festivals of Himachal Pradesh


Chet: - Chet festival held in the first month of the Lunar year. The people of himachal celebrate this festival with happiness and with prosperity. This festival is known as in Kullu is Chatarli and Dholru in Bharmour. This festival is held in main Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Kangra districts.

Navratras: - Navratras festival celebrates in Himachal Pradesh with great interest. Durga Ashtami is the great importance of this festival. Baisakhi: -. Baisakhi is known as Bisowa in Kangra, Bissue in Shimla, and Lishoo in Chamba. This festival is celebrates in April13. In this day the people are white washes in there house. People take holy dip at Tattapani near Shimla, Bangna near Kangra, and Markanda near Bilaspur. Baisakhi festival held in many places with greatness. There number of villages are organized the competition of wrestling, dancing and archery are held.

Phulaich: - Phulaich festival is also called the festival of flowers. This festival comes of the month of Novenber and this festival held in main Kinnaur. In this day the people pray for the peace of their souls. In his festival the people served the food to animals. In this month there are many flowers are growing so its festival called the festival of flowers.

Kullu Dussehra: - Kullu Dussehra is the most important festival of Himachal Pradesh. The Dussehra of Kullu in famous all over India. This festival came in the month of October. This festival is very famous in Himachal Pradesh and in this day people cook many special dishes or sweets. This festival is held for ten days. This festival is a very joyful and cheerful. It is the most spectacular procession in the country and himachal Pradesh.

Lossar: - Lossar festival held in the month of November and December celebrate in Himachal Pradesh. This is a Buddhist festival. This festival came in the winter season. In this day people sings the songs and pray to the God. This festival celebrates in main Lahul Spiti. This festival means the life of the people fill the happiness and prosperity in future.

Lovi: - Lovi fair is the biggest fair of the Himachal Pradesh. Lovi fair held in Rampur. This fair comes in the month of February. This fairs attached with the religious. There are many tourist come out in the Rampur to see the fair and many shopkeepers are come into another’s countries to popularize their art and craft. Renuka: - Renuka fair held in district sirmaur and it’s celebrated in the month of November. This fair started in before 10th day of Diwali. The fairs related with the Parshuram the youngest son of the Renuka. Folk dance, magic show, Kariyala play, thoda dance, wrestling bouts, fire works, police and homeguard’s, band display, developmental exhibitions, cinema shows and bhajan kirtan are the some example of the Renuka fair.

Manimahesh: - Manimahesh fair come in the month of the July- August. This is the most important fair of the Himachal Pradesh. This fair attached with Hindu religious. This fair organized to two months. This fare is very historic and this place is also called the- a town of Lord Shiva. This festival is very popular in Himachal Pradesh.
