Industrial Development in Himachal-More Job Opportunities to Himachalis

Himachal is becoming one of the favourite spots of the entrepreneurs to set up the industries because of the following reasons:

1. Better law and order in Himachal as compared to other states.
2. Serene and pollution free environment in Himachal.
3. Uninterrupted power supply, which is very essential for setting up the plants.

Primarliy three districts of Himachal Pradesh are turning out to be the hub of industrial activities viz. Solan, Sirmaur and Una. Baddi region of Solan as variety of industries being set up manufacturing various national and international goods. Similarily, Kala Amb region of Sirmaur is upcoming with many industries. These industrial units are proving beneficial for providing job opportunities for the residents of Himachal. Himachal government has granted permission for setting up the industries in Himachal on the basis of employing at least 70 percent of residents of Himachal in their firms.

Biscuit Company-Ceremica in Tahaliwal, Una: It is a mtter of great pride that the world renowned biscuit company has its manufacturing plant in Tahaliwal employing 80 percent Himachalis.

Paper Plant-Saber Paper Ltd. In Tahaliwal: producing a very high quality paper, Saber Paper Ltd. Has its plant in Tahaliwal. Out of 1600 employees in saber Paper Ltd. About 1250 are Himachalis.

Sukhjit Agro Industries: Manufacturing plant of the renowned producer of agro product, Sukhjit Agro Industries, is in the Gurpalah village of Tahaliwal region. It makes products for pharmaceutical and confectionary industries. 75 percent of its employees belong to Himachal Pradesh.
