Early Apple Boxes in Market Loses Rates

The greed of earning handsome money by sending the apple boxes early in the market has made the farmers of Himachal suffer heavy loses as reported on July 4, 2010 at Bhattakuffar. People started transporting apples which were not totally ripe and not even proper color had come on the apples.

Rushing the apples quickly into the market in the month of June, people spray the apples and do not let them ripe naturally and as a consequence they have to face very ow prices of apple boxes. It has been stated that 20 kg apple box is going withing the range of Rs. 400-Rs. 600 which is very low as compared to the previous years . Last year Tydeman's Early Worcester fetched between Rs.1,100 and Rs.1,400 per box. Premature harvesting of the apple crops has resulted in the bad quality of apples.

It is advised to the other people having orchards to let the apple ripe naturally and do not hurry to send apples in the market, if they want to get good return.
