Apple Harvesting in Full Pace in Himachal

Apple, is considered as one of the major cash crops of Himachal. Apple orchards in the month of July are fully loaded with the delicious apple fruit. This is the month when apple harvesting starts in the lower height regions of Himachal.

Apple orchards in lower regions of Kullu, Rohru, Kotgarh, Kotkhai, Jubbal have started with the apple season. The year 2010 is not proving a good year for the apple season, as the apple got severely damaged by hailstorms in the maximum regions of Himachal, thus losing its value in the market. Though the production of apple is good this year(2010) as compared to last year (2011), but the crop has been damaged in whole. In spite of immense hard work by the farmers for the entire year, they are not able to get a good return on their production.
