Improve Road Conditions to Attract Tourists in Himachal

Undoubtedly Himachal Pradesh is one of the best destinations for the travellers. Tourists come to visit various places in Himachal throughout the year. Himachal Government is doing its bit to atract tourists from all over the world.

Recently Himachal Chief Minister has announced that Himachal will provide free boarding and lodging to the Commonwealth Games record holders. The Government will bear all their expenses for their trip of over a week. The idea behind this is to attract tourists from all over the world. The thinking is very right and I am sure this will help in boosting more traffic to the state.

Himachal Pradesh is not connected very well via rail or air. Most of the tourists who visit Himachal travel by road. I firmly believe that if Himachal Government improve the condition of its roads the number of tourists will grow further. The conditions of the roads leading to famous hill stations like Dharamshala, Chamba, Manali, Bilaspur, etc. is not up to the mark. Though the government is trying to improve the roads, the work is going on at snail's pace.

The first impression is always the right impression. People who drive down to Himachal has to face the heat on the roads full of patholes. Especially for the people traveling in monsoons it is a horrifying experience in some of the roads.

If the road conditions are good the tourists will love to come again but they will definitely spread bad words if their experience is not good. Word of mouth publicity helps a lot either in attracting the tourists or demotivating them.

Our government should seriously look into the road conditions if they really want to attract tourists to the state
