Tourism is very important activity for the economy of the nation. Thousand of tourists travel in India every month. So the government of India provides many facilities for tourists to travel in India. The importance of tourism in India recognized after 2nd world war. India organized step to promote tourism in India was made in the year of 1945. India government recognized a committee for develop tourism in India. Himachal Pradesh is the main tourist state of India. There are many beautiful cities and towns are situated in Himachal Pradesh. Shimla and Manali are the two famous places of Himachal Pradesh. Jakhu temple, Baba Nahar Singh temple, Baba Balak Nath temple, Naina Devi temple, Hidimba Devi temple and Chintpurni temples are the famous temples of Himachal Pradesh. Govind Sagar Lake, Pong Lake and Renuka Lake are the famous lakes of Himachal Pradesh.
Shimla the capital of Himachal Pradesh
Shimla is situated in the north-west Himalayas and this is the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Shimla is the biggest hill station of world which is located in the altitude of 7262 feet above sea level. In the time of British union Shimla was called the summer capital of India. Shimla is 117 kms from Chandigarh and 370 kms from Delhi. Jakhu temple and Tara Devi temples are the famous temples of Himachal Pradesh. The most important tourist place of Shimla is Kufri. Kufri was famous for the name of sports. In every year a heavy rainfall dropped in Kufri. In the Mall road you can see the hills which are covered by snow.

Manali is the famous for tourist places of Himachal Pradesh. Manali situated in Beas River valley. Manali is a small town. Manali is the beautiful city of Himachal Pradesh.. Manali is also called snow valley. Manali is situated in the altitude of 1926 meter and spread in 12.5 square km. Manali is situated in Kullu district. Manali is 280 kms from Shimla, 312 kms from Chandigarh and 583 kms from Delhi. Hidimba Devi temple is the famous temple of Manali. There are many sports game are arranged by government in every year like skiing, hiking, mountaineering, paragliding, rafting, trekking, kayaking and mountain biking.

The other name of this temple is Doongri temple. This temple built by Raja Bahudur Singh which is the king of Kullu district. This temple related with Hidimba Devi which is the wife of Pandave prince,
Solang Valley: - Solang valley is 13 kms northwest of Manali. Solang valley is 13 kms from Manali. This valley covered with snow and glacier.
Dalhousie located in the outer slopes of hills of Dhauladhar range. Dalhousie is another hill resort of Himachal Pradesh. Dalhousie is a lovely town. There are many forests in this town like Oaks and pines. Dalhousie is the gateway of Chamba. The area of Dalhousie spread over in 13 square km.
