More than 60 thousand devotees made holy dip in Manimahesh Lake, Chamba.

'Manimahesh Yatra' was in progress since a week by lakhs of devotees from different parts of the nation. Manimahesh lake is in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. On the holy occasion of Radha Ashtami (15th September, 2010), it is estimated that about 60 thousand people made a holy dip in the Manimahesh lake. However, in total 4 lakh devotees visited Manimahes lake this time.

People often visit Manimahesh to get rid of all the sins and problems in their life. Manimahesh lake is considered as a scared lake in Himachal Pradesh.
Manimahesh lake is situated at a chilling height of 13,500 feet in Chamba district. One can imagine how cold the water would be when thousands of devotees took the dip in it. Devotees, spend the whole night of Radha Ashtami singing on the tunes of almighty. It is also believed that a unique flame of light is seen during the morning hours near Kailash Parvat during this season. Many devotees witnessed this holy flame of light.
