Anurag Thakur, a youth icon for the youngsters of Himachal has done a lot enhance sports activities in Himachal. Son of honourable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Lok Sabha MP from Hamirpur parliamentary constituency and President of Himachal Cricket Association (HPCA), Anurag Thakur has reached the summit level of his career in very short span. Anurag Thakur's incessant effort in sports development has now got him a place in the high profile governing council of Indian Premier League. (IPL).

It was due to the efforts of Anurag Thakur that IPL match were conducted in Dharamshala cricket stadium during the first half of this year 2010. Anurag Thakur said that he will put in more efforts to conduct more IPL matches in Himachal in the coming years which will promote tourism too in the state.
