History of Manikaran

She could not find the ear ring anywhere and told Shiva who was meditating and when he came to know about this. Shiva got angry and threatened to destroy the big Serpent who was there. Fearing he immediately gave the ring back. Hence the name Manikaran is derives from Mani (jewel) and karan (ear).
