The Holy Peak Churdhar
The journey to the divine peak is difficult but at the end it is rewarding.
Churdhar is situated at a high altitude of around 3648 meters. One needs 16kms to climb the peak and reach the sacred place Churdhar.
The blessed peak offers a fine and beautiful view of Gangetic plains and the Sutlej river towards the south, Badrinath on its north, is also a famous Hindu pilgrimage. Chakrata hills and Shimla are seen form the top of the mountain.
How to reach
Churdhar can be approached through Dadahu, Bhawal, Gandhauri, Sangrah and Nauhra. It is about 50kms walking or trekking. There after one has to climb the peak for about 16kms. The other way to approach is through an orchard valley known as Rajgarh.
The climate is a bit cold round the year. There is snow on the holy peak in winters.
Heavy woollens for winter and light woollens in summer are recommended.
