Location
Chamba is a very famous tourist destination. The place is situated at an elevation of 1000 meters.

History

The town was founded in 920 A.D. by Raja Sahil Barman. The towm is situated on the side of the river Raavi.

Views

The views here are very fascinating. On the way from Khajjiar to Chamba the hill town is visible from the heights. The views from this height are wonderful. The scenes of the river Raavi are breadth taking.

Bada Chowgan
The place is located at the centre of the town. It is a big grassy lawn. The place is wonderful and fascinating. The place is famous for a week long Minjar fair which in the months of July or August every year.

Saint Andrew's Church
The building church is very beautiful. The church is build with stones and was constructed about 100 years back. One should visit the church for peace of mind and to see the real beauty of the church.

Bhuri Singh Museum
The museum is famous for various paintings of Kangra, Chamba, Basholi. The place has many rare artefacts. A must visit place to know the past of Himachal Pradesh and to see the real beauty the state is offering.

Temples
There are many temples in the hill town of Chamba. Some of the famous temples are Hari Rai temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Lakshmi Narayan temple of the 10th century, Rang Mahal and Chamunda temple etc. The temples provide the real peace of mind and blessings of the God.

How to reach

There is a huge network of HRTC busses to fulfil the requirements of the people of the state as well as the visitors. Some private operators are also running their busses in the state. Almost every part of the state is connected with roads.

Climate

Climate of Shimla is pleasant round the year. During winters there may be snow and the temperature can go down to zero.

Clothes

Heavy woollens for winter and light woollen or cotton clothes for summer are recommended.

There are many hotels and cottages in Chamba. Accommodations are available here at very reasonable rates.
