Himachal Pradesh University is one of the well-known Universities of India.

Introduction

The University is located on one of the famous tourist spot and a picturesque place of Shimla. The was established on July 22, 1970.The University has about 25 departments such as Ayurveda, A Tibetan language called Bhoti, Yoga and many more. The University is located in the capital of the state itself.

Streams

There are wide range educational streams available in the University. For carrying research and investigations in the field of Agricultural Economics in Western Himalayan region the university is having an Agro-Economic Research Centre. The university is also having a Centre of Environmental Studies. The university also runs courses from Distance Education for which the university is running ICDEOL centres in Shimla as well as some other parts of the country.
