Maharishi Markendeshwar University is one of the famous universities of India as well as Himachal Pradesh. The university is an integral part of the M M Education Trust which is famous with the name of M M University Trust.

Maharishi Markendeshwar University, Solan is spread over an area of 47 acres in exotic surroundings of green hills. The university is ideally located on Chandigarh-Kalka-Shimla National Highway at Sultanpur Road, Solan, HP. It is a multi speciality university in the name of Maharishi Markendeshwar Ji.The university has been operational from the session 2010-2011.

Background

The university is being run by the MM Education Trust which was founded in November, 1993. The Trust was founded by a great visionary and famous promoter of education Shri Tarsem Garg. The Trust is running various educational institutes and universities in the states of Haryana and Himachal.

The disciplines in which university is taking admissions are:-

 School of Engineering Technology.
 School of Computer Applications.
 School of Business Management.

Proposed Institutions

More intuitions of Medical Sciences, Dental Sciences, Nursing, Hotel Management, Pharmacy, Fashion Design etc are planned and will come up in coming sessions. The work for the 300 bedded multi-speciality hospital is in progress which will further be upgraded to 500 bedded hospital and further to a Medical college also.
