Tourist spot Kinnaur

Introduction

Kinnaur is a big & one of the beautiful district in the HP. It is the land of fairy tales and fantasies, it is surrounded by lush green valley, orchards, vineyards, snow clad peaks and cold desert mountains. It is a border district of Himachal Pradesh.

Location

It is located at the top of hills and surrounded by lush green Devdar & Oaks trees.It is 250 kms away from Shimla and situated on the NH-22(Hindustan Tibet road).

Climate

In winter, the temperature can drop to below freezing point when heavy woolens are required and for summers light woolens are recommended.

Altitude

It is situated at the height of 2875m above the sea level.

Attractive Places

Recong Peo Recong Peo is a Headquater of district Kinnaur. It is 240 km away from Shimla.
Kothi Kothi has a temple which is dedicated to the Goddess Chanadika Devi.It is just 3 km from Recong Peo.
Sangla Valley Sangla Valley is a landscape of a Kinnaur district. It is famous for Bhima Kali temple.
Riba It is situated on the NH-22 and it is specialy famous for there local wine 'Angoori' which is made from grapes.It is just 18 km from Powari.
Jangi Jangi is famous for Kinner Kailash Parikrama Trek starts touching Morang.Just 26 km from Powari.
Kaza Kaza is on the bank of river Spiti.It has a Buddhist monastery and Hindu Temple.

Access

By Road
The route of the road is on NH-22(Hindustan Tibet Road) which connected to Kalpa from Powari. Buses and Taxis are available at Shimla and Rampur.
By Rail
Nearest railhead is in Shimla which is 244 km in at Shimla.
By Air
Nearest airport is also in Shimla.
