Kullu Dussehra in Kullu Manali

Kullu Dussehra is one of the famous festival of the residents of Kullu Manali. This festival is celebrated on the day when the evil king Ravan was killed by lord Rama. This one of the most sacred festivals. Kullu Dussehra is celebrated during the month of October. Panoramic valley of Kullu is a particular place where people are used to celebrate this festival. If you will see Kullu Dussehra then you will also become the fan of this festival. In Dhalpur maidan in Kullu, a long fair of about one week is held here and this marks the starting of the Kullu Dussehra.

The deties from various temples are brought here and then the devotees of these gods prays here. This is also called Rathyatra. In this the Gaddi shepherds comes and sings, dance and also praises the Gods. Ths seen attracts most tourists. Ram Lila is also conducted on the first day of Kullu Dussehra. Animals are also sacrificed for worshiping Gods. Burning of effigy is also done in this festival.

On the last day of Kullu Dussehra the chariot of Raghunathji is brought near the river Beas in India. Then a heap of wood is set on fire symolising the death of ravan by Lord Rama. One should also be a part of this festival and enjoy the enthusiasm and enchantment of Kullu Dussehra.
