Introduction:
Baba Balak Nath is a very famous deity of peoples of Himachal and Punjab. Baba Balak Nath is also known as Sidh Baba Balak Nath . The pilgremage place of Baba Balak Nath is known as "Deotsidh". The idol of the Baba Balak Nath is kept in a natural cave. Womens are not allowed in the cave, but they can do the darshan of the idol from the raised structure made at a few distance from the cave. It is believed that Lord Shiva had blessed Babaji that Babaji will always remain 13 years old. That is why they are worshipped as "Baba Balak Nath". Mata Ratno had employed Babaji for looking after her cows.
"Shah Talai" is also a secred place of Baba Balak Nath. It is believed that Babaji had practiced penance at "Shah talai". "Rot" is the famous prasad of the Baba Balak Nath. It is made of wheat flour mixed with sugar/gur and cooked in desi ghee (a pure butter oil)
Location:
"Deotsidh" is 45 kms from Hamirpur. Name of the village where the temple is situated is called Chakmoh, which falls in district Hamirpur.
"Shah Talai" is just 6 kms from "Deotsidh"
How to Reach:
By Air: Nearest Airport is Chandigarh at a distance of 120Kms
By Rail: Nearest railway station is Una, Himachal at a distance of 50kms
By Road: Deotsidh is well connected by road from Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Una.
Best Time to visit: Throughout the year.
