Introduction:

Baira Siul Project is a hydro electricity generation plant. It is the very first project of NHPC. This project is made on the combination of inflow of three tributaries of the Ravi river, namely Baira, Siul and Bhaledh for generation of power.

Location: It is located at 42 kms from Chamba and 135 kms from Pathankot

Adress: Baira Siul Project, Surangani

Distt: Chamba, Himachal Pardesh

Installed Capacity: 180 MW (3 x 60 MW) uprated to 198MW

Type of turbine used: Francis

Year of Commissioning: 1981

Commercial production started : 01/04/1982.
