Introduction:

Laxmi Narayan temple is very famous and oldest temple in Chamba. It is built by Raja Sahil Verma in 10th century.The Laxmi Narayan Temple is constructed in the Shikhara style.There are six temples out of which three temples are dedicated to Lord Vishnu and other three to Lord Shiva. Some other temples are also there in the temple complex including Radha Krishna Temple, Shiva Temple of Chandragupta and Gauri Shankar Temple. Laxmi Narayan Temple is one of the main attraction of chamba town and attracts a lots of visitors every year.

This temple is constructed in such a way to get protection in all the climatic conditions.To keep the snowfall off the roofs wooden chhatris or umbrella-like structures are built .There is also a wheel shaped roof that staves off the cold.

Location: The temple is located 15 minutes walk from the chamba bus stand.

Timings of the Temple: The opening timing of the temple is as follows:

First Half (Morning): 6 am to 12.30 pm

Second Half (Evening): 2.30 to 8.30 pm.
