History of Chail

The history of Chail is not much interesting but is a story of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh. It is said that once Bhupinder Singh was banished from Shimla for his bad behavior with Lord Kitchener's daughter. Lord Kitchner was the governal general of British India at that time. Maharaja was then decided to build a summer capital better than Shimla. As a result, the wonderful piece of heaven Chail was discovered. He built a palace in Chail which is a hotel now that serves tourists. In the year 1972, Himachal Pradesh Development Corporation decided to restore this palace for repair work.
