Apple scab is most serious and damaging disease of apple and some areas of Himachal showing some characteristic symptoms of this disease so farmers or fruit growers can follow the spray schedule to check the disease. Precaution : do not spray in excess.

Apple scab (Venturia inaequalis) is most serious and damaging disease of not only in India but also in the world. This year its occurrence is seen Rohru adjoining area as the temperature remains low from December to March continuously with regular raining, all this is favoured for the disease to prevail. Farmers can follow spray schedule which can reduce the incidence of disease.
Spray schedule can be taken form Dr Y S Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry or can be downloaded from its site. The disease is harmful that it damages the whole orchard in few a days. Higher hilly area of Mandi especially Janjialy is more prone to the disease. But it is good news of Kinnaur area apple grower that disease may not cause any damage this year in your area. Though, it is important to take care and follow the spray schedule given by the University so that other diseases can also be eliminated.

Precaution: Do not spray in excess as it not only damage the fruit but also harm to economy.
