Interesting and Beautifull places at Distt. Shimla

There are some interesting and beautifull places at district Shimla a capital of Himachal Pradesh. So, the places are: Chadwick Falls & Glen, Chail, Choordhar, The Church, Fagu, Hat Koti Temple, Indian Institute of Advance Studies, Jahku Hill, Kufri, Naldehra, Narkanda, Rampur, Rohru, Sarahan.

Shimla, the Queen of Hills is one of the known frequently visited hill station of India. It was is known as a summer capital during the pre-independence era.
the some interesting places of District Shimla are as under:
1. Chadwick Falls & Glen: A popular picnic spot. a small stream, flowing through ever green slopes- 4km from shimla.
2.CHAIL: Chail is 29 Kms from Kandaghat a way inbetween Solan and Shimla. It was a summer capital of Maharaja of Patiala before independence. The dense forest around Chail are alive with many species of birds and Animals. The Asia'a highest Cricket ground is also the main attraction for tourist.
3. CHOORDHAR: Dominating the entire landscape of fields and revines is the choordhar peak, which rises to 3647 mts. Also seen the hills of Chakrata and Shimla from the top. In the top the big Shiv temple is also the main attraction.
4. THE CHURCH: The church is located at the ridge in Shimla was built in 1844 AD during the British Raj.
5.FAGU: On teh Hindustan Tibet Road, Fagu is 22kms from Shimla. The place affords an extensive view of the two valleys opposite.
6. HAT KOTI TEMPLE: this Temple is 104 kms from Shimla. This is the ancient temple of lord DURGA and SHIVA. One road goes to Uttarakhand also from there. Pabbar river flows nereby this temple.
7.NALDEHRA: It is 22 kms from Shimla. Naldehra is very famous for the Golf ground. Many times bollywood stars have visited this place for suiting. Therefore, is a very unique place for picnic and sports activity.
8. RAMPUR: This place is about 140 Kms. from Shimla and about 40-50 kms from Narkanda. This a place Raja of Rampur Bushahar. The Buddist and a Hindu temple situated besides the palce of Raja at Rampur Bsr. This place is also famous for the biggest trade fair of northern region known as LAVI FAIR.
9. SARAHAN: This Place is 170-180 kms from Shimla (approx) and is famous for very beautifull BHIMAKALI TEMPLE.
10. INDIAN INSTITUTE OF ADVANCE STUDIES: This insitute is at Summer Hill, Near to HPU and build in 1884-88 AD.Its gardens are spread over a large areas around a lodge.
