      Hamirpur In Himachal Pradesh



      HamirpurHamirpur is one of the district of Himachal Pradesh. Hamirpur is a very famous place as it also known as Vhir Bhoomi Marty`s land. Hamirpur is situated in the Western part of Himachal Pradesh at the altitude of 400 meters to 1100 meters above sea level. Hamirpur shares its border with other district and looks like the center and it boundaries shared by Kangra to the north, Mandi to the east, Bilaspur to the south and Una to the west. This town shares the little part with Beas river and also in the Shivalik hill-ranges. This district is covered with enchanting pine trees and rivers, which shows the beauties of Himalayas.Their are many places to visit their like Sujanpur Tira, Narvdeshwar Temple, Bil-kaleshwar Temple, Tauni-Devi Temple, Baba Balak Nath and many more.In Baba Balak Nath Temple people from all over in Himachal Pradesh came their for their blessings. Come to the Hamirpur for experiencing the beauty of greenery of Pine trees and the temples.

      Hamirpur is known as an educational hub of Himachal Pradesh. In the Census of 2011 this region is second in education area, which is grate achievement for the district. Hamirpur town is the Headquarter of this District, which is situated in Shimla Dharamshala road. Majority of people here is Hindu and speaks Pahari and Hindi. Hamirpur is the most Literate district in Himachal Pradesh. Two main rivers are flow through the Hamirpur, these rivers are very famous in Himachal Pradesh and these are the Beas river from northern part and the Satluj river from southern part.

      History of Hamirpur


      Hamirpur was part of Kangara district till 1972. Then it was separate and Hamirpur and Una become new district of Himachal Pradesh. In this British year the Hamirpur is ruled by the great king Raja Sansar Chand-II, who made the forts and many temples in the district. After the independence Hamirpur is also a part of Kangara district. In 1 September 1972 it was merged and a new district is formed Hamirpur. Now this district is divided into six Development Blocks such as Hamirpur, Bijhari, Bhoranj, Nadaun, Sujanpur and newly created Bamsan at Touni Devi. Touni Devi is a holy place in Hamirpur.

      Tourist attractions in Hamirpur


      Major tourist attraction in hamirpur is Fairs like Gasota Mahadev, Hamir Utsav (State fair), Holi fair of Tira Sujanpur (State fair)and many more.
      Sujanpur Tira is most famous place in Hamirpur. This place was the capital of Katoch Dynasty and many people visit to it. There is old fort Tira which is built by Raja Abhaya Chand.
      Temple of Baba Balak Nath , In this temple many people have great belief in it and it most religious famous in Himachal Pradesh.
      Nadaun , this place is peaceful and having old palaces and ancient shiv temples.
