Shimla State Museum

One of the popular places of Shimla is the famous Shimla State Museum which consists of huge collection of different coins, handicrafts, photos etc.

Every year thousands of people come here to look out this beautiful art of Shimla. This famous museum of Shimla was inaugurated in the year 1974. You will find this museum open from 10 in the morning till 5 in the evening. Also, one library is joined with this museum that is full of historical manuscripts and books.

The huge collection of different kinds of paintings also attracts many people. There is also a huge collection of Mughal and Rajasthani paintings. This museum also has some of the sculptural merit of the 8th century stone. Many local Himachali dolls are displayed in this museum. Contemporary oil paintings are very popular in this museum. A separate room is also present in this museum which is specially dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi where his pictures and books are kept.
