Himachal Pradesh against Corruption

Himachal State Government is bringing lot of new bills to make government services transparent in Himachal. Himachal is on the way of corruption free state in India. Recently Himachal government passes bill to check corruption in Himachal Pradesh. With the implementation of this bill Himachal Pradesh became the third state in the country which has such type of bill. The first two states in India having anti-corruption bill are Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. Himachal Pradesh assembly conducted one debate on Tuesday for implementation of HP Special Courts Bill, 2011. This bill was also passed earlier with the help of voice vote.

Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh was looking very happy after approvement of this bill. He said that under this bill there is provision for designating special courts which will be for the speedy trial of corruption in Himachal. This bill is also applicable in case of attachment and confiscation of property that is achieved by corrupt methods. He also included that these courts will be presided over by a judicial officer and the time period for judgement is maximum of 3 years. The rank of judicial officer should not less than the rank of district and sessions judge. He said that the basic use of this bill is to do fastened work in field of corruption and it will also improve present condition of Himachal Pradesh in many ways. Chief Minister also said that peoples can give their suggestions online and he also asked the same thing by using media in Himachal Pradesh. He said that vigilance act would also be made more stringent. The main opposition party Congress also appreciated this move of Himachal State Government. But at the same time there are some politians who believes that it was the media pressure that forces state government to implement this law so soon. Also there are some politians who are saying that this is one of the most historical bill ever in Himachal Pradesh. I also took public opinions on this bill and almost all were happy.
