Himachal Road Transport Corporation(HRTC) is providing the transportation service not only in the state itself but also to the surrounding states also. this corporation has a big role in developing the state in terms of locomotion.

HRTC is providing bus service to the passengers in Himachal and to the other neighboring states namely Haryana, Punjab and Uttaranchal. It has in total about 1733 routes and mainly operates in four types of buses as mentioned below:-

Deluxe Buses.
Ordinary Buses.
Luxury Coach Air Conditioned Buses.
High-Tech Buses.

Facts about HRTC
• For a group of 10 or more people 10% is off for each passenger.

• Return ticket is also getting concession of 10%

• Smart card holders get 10% concession. The senior citizen is allowed 20% concession in fare. You can have a smart card at Rs.60 for a validity period of one year.

• Handicapped, Press Correspondents/ MLAs/ MPs/ EX-MLAs/ EX-MPs and Social Workers, War Widows & Gallantry Award Winners, Padam Shree Awardees, Freedom Fighters get a free travelling in HRTC buses.

Himachal Pradesh transportation i.e. (HRTC) is providing a transport service from 23 depots which are located in various parts of the state. It mainly operates from the cities namely Shimla, Mandi, Hamirpur and Dharamshala. It works on 24/7 basis and has a great hand in state overall development.
