Winter Carnival festival in Manali is held in January month. This festival has great attraction among the people from all over India. Manali is situated in the altitude of 6500 ft. Winter carnival festival is the famous festival of the Manali which shows the culture values of Himachal Pradesh. This festival was first time held in 1977 by the Yashwant Singh Parmar. This festival is generally started for the tourism development in the state.

Now there are many winter sports are organize in Manali. At festival time the all hills and peaks of Manali are covered by the snow. It shows that we are come to heaven. It is started from the 23rd January to 27th January. It was held for three days. During festival days there are many programs are held in night for the tourist in different part of the Manali for enjoy the festival.

There are many winter sports school and clubs you can find in Manali which are specially built for tourists. Snow skiing is the major sports activity of Manali. These winter sports are organized in Rohtang range and ski slopes of Solang valley. Now this festival is declared by Himachal government as a state level festival. There are many tourists and students come out the Manali in winter season from the different places to take participating in winter sports.It is be a best fun and entertainment activity during winter season.
