Skiing is the oldest sport of the state. It is entirely dependent over the snowfall and thus is active at the times of December and continues up to march. Various people visit the place and try their hand in different activities being organized by the various brands and you can enjoy and win the different prizes here.

The state is very famous for its lofty peaks. That's why; this is the ultimate place for this sport. The snow covered hills, with tapered slope makes a perfect combination for descent action for the sport of skiing. The state has got many places which offer this sport and one can get to different places and get you indulged with the different competitions. Visiting a place which can give you maximum of your interest and makes yourself relieved out of your tedious work can be achieved here.

Mashobra

This place is thirteen kilometers from the capital, Shimla. This place gets covered with snow in the month of December and tends the same to march. Many foreigners try their best in several competitions and the local people enjoy their holiday's right from the starting of December. The place has got a valley type scenic beauty and the climatic conditions are also perfect for the same. Thus, the place is mostly recommended to the learners who are new to this sport.

Kufri

it is termed as the winter sport of the capital, the place is very much close to the Shimla. This is again at the distance of thirteen kilometers from Shimla. The altitude ranges to 2622 meters. It is termed as a skier's paradise. Here the season for this sport starts from January and continues till the month march. This place is a small locality but it becomes active with the starting of the snowfall. This place is somewhat finest as compared to the other places this is due to the fact that the place is located at a much higher altitude and the slopes of the peaks are much tapered and sharp. So, all the enthusiastic performers can try their hand in skiing at Kufri because you get more thrilling action here.

Narkanda

This is regarded as the oldest of the all places in the capital, since this is a descent place to try out the skiing sport. This place has got varied ranges of valleys which offer different kinds of skiing experiences to all the travellers and the localities. The place is located at a distance of sixty kilometers from the capital.one can get to the place very easily by the very busy national highway (22). This is recommended to move to the place a bit earlier before the snowfall takes place because this national highway jams at the time of snowfall and thus turning your expectations to try the skiing at the time of snowfall into vain.one can never predict about the slopes here, because it is somewhat zigzag type slope which always makes the skier active all the times in his/her sport. There is also a ski resort here which is again at a much higher altitude so, giving you an eternity feeling all the times during your stay. This place is again famous for delivering the crunchy apples and cherries and therefore coming to this very active place and getting your hand in the sport is really a matter of joy and makes you feel much better.
