About Khogal Festival of Lahul-Spiti
Khogal festival is the major festival of the Himachal Pradesh. This festival was held in the month of January. It is a religious festival. This festival is very famous among the people. Everyone says that when first time you can see this festival it take place in your heart. In this festival people was wearing the local clothes which are very famous in all over India market. The clothes show a great personality among the people.
The festival is celebrated by taking an exotic local drink named 'Chakti'. This drink was very famous in Lahul-Spiti. During the festival the people are goes to his/her relative house from take the Chakti dring. After the drink the various programs are held by peoples to enjoy the festival. Now this festival has got a great popularity among the peoples. During the time of the festival there are many numbers of people comes out to the Lahul for see this festival.
The night of the festival is very attractive. Everywhere you can see the sounds of flutes and drums with great noise. This noise shows that the festival is start. At night the local people perform the local dance and folk's song. That time of the festival is very enjoyable. This festival is started from the noon time and it is finished in mid night. After returning the home people worshipped the deities of their family. They worship the deities of their family along with the deity Baraja. Baraja was the local deity of the Lahul.
