Snowboarding is the little skillful sport which needs more active participation. Since this sport is followed by some really big obstacles and you have to follow pre-set instructions in some styles only, henceforth, this is a thrilling sport and you will enjoy it in the surrounding of Himachal.

      INTRODUCTION

This is the most challenging sport to be played without the help of any rods in the hand. Although this sport is not much famous in the state but foreigners are fond of this sports to much extent. This sport is mainly played at Kufri and Narkanda only. Manali is found to be less populated to the same sport since, it needs much control of the body i.e. balancing and pushing and pulling wherever is necessary this consist of a board where mounted, specially designed shoes are there and remember, there are no rods with it. This game is so fatal sometime that it mainly leads to death, hence this need a great careful practice to perform any of the stunts before. Although this game is very popular in the foreign, but in India especially in Himachal Pradesh it is flourishing at a much pace and in couple of years it would emerge as a new sport in the state.

      Snowboarding different styles

      1. Freestyle

The free style as the name indicates, here a person can perform any of the arts he is known to. This is jumping, skating and the list is long. He can slide at the base of the board too and the main target of him is to win the title by reaching to the aim at the fastest time. The judges never look at the way he gets to the target that is predefined, rather they are more interested on the timing only. For the competitors they have to just concentrate on the tricks they can use to get the minimum distance, you can call it as a displacement; therefore, he is free of any set instructions which are incorporated in any other style. The important thing here is that the box comes in different styles and the path to be followed is full of difficult obstacles. The main aim of this style is to get the use of terrain to the maximum and to check the mind setup of the performer. If opted for wrong decision then one may have an accident which most of the time becomes fatal. The equipment used in freestyle is usually a soft boot with a twin tipped board for better balance while riding regular or switch, though free-ride equipment is often used successfully. To conclude, this is the style which is free from any pre-described instructions and you just have to get your target keeping track of nothing.

      2. Free-carve

This is similar to the skiing, the only difference is that you have to take certain steps while performing any task, in this curves are preset and the track is clear. You are not allowed to take many jumps and you have to control the drift since this is all about drift. Whoever controls the drift very professionally he is sure to win the sport. This in Himachal is still a dream but since it has launched itself as a free style so time is not far to get this type of style too in the coming future., though infrequently. Sometimes called alpine snowboarding, or the 'euro-carve', free-carving takes place on hard packed snow or groomed runs and focuses on the ultimate carving turn, much like traditional skiing.

Therefore this was a brief idea about the sport, moreover a style.so, be here this winter and enjoy the thrilling action of this very sport. While performing any task/action is in your senses so that you may not meet any accident, rest has a glorious winter here at Himachal.
