Ponta Sahib is the one of the famous place in Sirmour district in Himachal Pradesh. Ponta Sahib s a very famous place as it also known as religious spot for Sikhs and a bustling industrial town. Ponta Sahib
is situated in outer Himalayan ranges, called as Shivaliks. Ponta Sahib shares its boundary by Shimla district in North,the rivers Tons and Yamuna in the East, district Ambala of Haryana in the South-West and Solan district in North-West.
This town generally situated on the bank of the river Yamuna. Their are many places to visit their like Quila Lohgarh Mazar of Bhure Shah and Assan lake.Their are various Gurudwaras, temples and industries to be visit.

History Of Ponta Sahib

The Ponta Sahib is a beautiful town in Sirmour District, Himachal Pradesh. TheGurudwara Ponta Sahib dedicated to the tenth Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singhand the Sikh leader Banda Bahadur. Alternate story says that when Guru Gobind Singh set foot on this place he lost an ornament which he wore on his foot called "Paonta" while bathing in the Yamuna river.Then this town name derived as Ponta Sahib. Another story says that Guru Gobind Singh's horse stopped at this place on its own and he decided to stay there then
its town name become as Paontika.
It is one of the important places for the Sikhs. It retains tangible memories of Guru Gobind Singh in the form of his weapons and a majestic Gurudwara. Anandpur Sahib has been establish the Khalsa Panth in Ponta Sahib.
Now there is a beautiful Gurudwara museum in which the memories of Guru Gobind Singh and a lot of antiques and weapons were used by them in that time were kept.
