Raighat-Kairtoo road open for traffic , Theog, Himachal Pradesh

The Raighat to Kairtoo road has finally opened for traffic after the approval of Himachal Pradesh Public Welfare Department. The completion of this project had been awaited by the people of the neighboring villages of these regions from 25 years . Projects like this give a ray of hope to the people living in remote villages of Himachal by linking them to the towns in the state.

A bus reached the village named Kit in Theog tehsil of Shimla district for the first time in 25 years. This region has an average elevation of about 6450 feet and is almost 30-35 Kilometers away from Shimla town. People living in this village Kit were overwhelmed to see a bus travel through its terrains for the first time in so many years. This road from Raighat to Kairtoo was recently opened for vehicles by the administration of Theog tehsil. The officers in charge of this region i.e. the district council member Mr. Ramlal Sharma, BJP speaker Mr. Diwakar Sharma, PWD SDO, all arrived by bus in the village.

The Raighat-Kairtoo road project started by Himachal Pradesh Public Welfare Department, Forest division. The proposal for this project had been given 25 years back but the construction of this road had started back in 1998 as per government records. The plan was to construct a 10 Kilometers long road which would cover .71 hectares of land in Theog region , District Shimla , Himachal Pradesh.

This road links the panchayats of Dharampur, Barog and Kairtoo etc with the Theog headquarters . It will be very advantageous for the people of these regions as it will lessen their traveling distance from 20 kilometers to mere 10 kilometers .

This road has been approved for a patch of 4.5 kilometers and the work for constructing it for bigger vehicles till Kairtoo is in progression.

This project had been awaited by the people of the villages in Theog from more than 2 decades. This is because of the ease that it would provide the local people by minimizing the distance between areas and saving their time. Though this project has finally been made possible after a long time span of 25 years still it has proved to be a great step in facilitating the people living in isolated areas of Himachal. Himachal Pradesh is making progress in linking the various remote areas of the state and making them approachable through roads.
