Shaheed Karam Chand square to be built in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh

Paying respect to the brave and fearless soldiers of the Indian Army who put their lives at stake to protect the public of India becomes the foremost duty of every Indian. Himachal Pradesh has been very up and active in fulfilling its responsibilities as far as the admiration of the sacrifices made by these martyrs is concerned. One more example to support this statement is the construction of a Square in Palampur, named after the shaheed Karam Chand Katoch.

Mr. Karam Chand Katoch was a sepoy in the Indian Army and fought in the 1962 India-China war. He never retuned back to his family since then. The news of him being dead also came after decades. He was from the Agojar village, Palampur, Himachal Pradesh.

The authorities of Palampur and the panchayat of the village Agojar have decided to pay a tribute to this martyr. They have resolved to build a square in the village which will be named after the shaheed Karam Chand Katoch.

It is the duty of the government as well as the public to recognise and honour the sacrifices these martyrs have made. As we all are aware of the fact that Himachal Pradesh has given numerous fearless soldiers to the Indian defence services who are ever ready to give up their lives for their mother land , India .This is the reason why Himachal Pradesh is also called the Veerbhoomi along with Devbhoomi.

The construction of this square will be a huge step in recognising the selfless efforts made by our soldiers. On the occasion of the death anniversary of Shaheed Karam Chand Katoch, the public welfare minister of the state , Thakur Gulab Singh has announced the construction of the square named after Karam Chand. The state government has always been very enthusiastically celebrating the 'shaheedi diwas' year after year in the remembrance of the brave soldiers of the nation .

Mr. Gulab Singh also inaugurated a bureau for assistant engineers in Lonivi, Palampur and a rest house too. He stated that every small village in Himachal Pradesh will be connected through roads in the tenure of Bhartiya Janta Party in Himachal.
