This lake is situated in the Chamba district, about 90 km from the chamba there is bharmour where you can reach by bus or taxi, after bharmour for Barsar which is 10 km from it then from this place there in no road and you have to walk on your foot or simply you can go there by horse. This journey firstly begin from the Chamba Chowgan where people came and stay there in the night and after from the next stay is in the Bharmour in the Chourasi temple where in the night jagran and other program are takes place. After night in the next morning you have to go Danchow and after there is gori kund and last you reach the Dal Lake.

There are so many places for the wondering, when you go from chamba then 5 km from chamba Karian came where a project of NHPC is situated which is a good place after that Rakh and then Dhawalla came which is on the bank of Ravi river, then you reach the Bharmour where so many temples are situated like Chaurashi temple, as it is hill area so it is basically famous for the apple and heavy snowfall, after that there is Danchow and gorikund place where the ancient The Lord Shiva was lived and this place has some historical story .
The best season for visiting this place is in the summer because in the winter there is heavy snowfall and all road are blocked and you have to stay there for a long time and even when you came there in the summer then go with warm clothes because there always chilly wind is blowing and in the morning the temperature is below 0 degree Celsius so we careful about these things, after all this is good place for the wondering and the tracking.
