International Minjar Festival Chamba HPHere in this article we are talking about the famous International Minjar festival which is held in the Chamba district every year in the last Sunday of the July month and till 2 weeks. This festival is firstly held in the raja times, the story behind this festival is related to the love of brother and sister. When this festival begins on the last Sunday of July month then sister wear a minjar to her brother's shirt and after this week it is thrown in the river. So when this festival begins then in the night singers came and people enjoy the function, this is continue for seven days, various local and other singer came here and entertainment the people be singing the song. After one week i.e. on Sunday in the evening the raja of the chamba Sit on the Elephant and go to the Ravi River for flowing the Minjar ion the water, During that time various local Deva and Devata are taken across the road to the river and many people go to the river for flowing the minjar, and after that they came to back and in the night in chamba chowgan various cultural event takes place and people enjoy it. After this day it is continue for the next day in which people came here and brought the things. In this temple there are so many exhibition are held by organization to aware the people last time exhibition are held Kalatop wild life sanctuary, NHPC Chamera and agricultural department of the chamba. Apart from it there are various other shops which came from different part of the country which are selling their famous wearing like this time shopper are came from Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Uttaranchal and Rajasthan and many more which they are selling their garments which they generally used. Also there are other many shops and people buy so many things. Also there are so many ways of entertainment. So when you are thinking to see this festival then this festival is held in the last week of the July month and during this month the climate is so good, it is not so called. You can reach this place by bus and taxi. Distances from the various places are given as, from State capital Shimla it is about 400 km, from Hamirpur it is about 150km, from Chandigarh it is 350kmn and from national capital it is about 600km. So when you came to this festival then in the day you can visit other places and temples, and also enjoy the boating at the Chamera lake.
